What's new in Perch
Every update is free for everyone who owns Perch, and installs itself in the background.
- v1.2.0LatestRelease on GitHub
GitHub, phone transfer, screenshots to the Shelf and a livelier notch.
New
- GitHub: your contribution graph, streaks, pull requests and top languages. Sign in with GitHub, or just enter a username.
- Phone transfer: scan a QR code to send photos and files between your phone and PC over Wi-Fi, both ways. Nothing goes through the internet.
- Snip to Shelf: take a screenshot and it lands on your Shelf, saved in Pictures › Perch Screenshots.
- Volume and brightness: a smooth bar in the notch while you change them.
- Earbuds connected: the name and battery pop up when Bluetooth headphones connect.
- Live music bars: small bars in the pill that move with what's playing.
Improved
- Resting pill: date and battery in the corners, a rolling clock in the centre, a charging animation when you plug in, and a greeting when you're back.
- Shelf: shows how full it is (it keeps your latest 30 files) and where received files are saved.
- Settings: the sidebar now scrolls, so every section is reachable.
- Release on GitHub
Reminders, wellness nudges, a new Links tool and a lot of polish.
New
- Reminders: give a task a time ("call mom tomorrow 6pm") and it shows up in the pill when it's due, with an optional Windows notification. Reminders wait for your break during a focus session.
- Repeating tasks: daily, weekdays, weekly, monthly or every few hours ("standup every weekday 9:30").
- Daily summary: once a day, the pill tells you what's due today.
- Wellness nudges: eye, stretch and water breaks on your own schedule and hours. Time away from the keyboard counts as a break.
- Links: a new tool for saving links, with titles, icons, tags and search.
- Tuck away: hide the pill behind a small handle when you need the whole screen.
- Pill glow: a soft light inside the pill that shows a focus session, a break or a due reminder. Turn it off in Settings.
Improved
- Insights: focus trends by day, week and month, your streak, and the hours you focus best.
- Screen time: app icons, sites from your browser, categories with daily limits, per-app detail, and a pause button.
- Calendar: each day's focus time, finished tasks and note, with a cleaner note card.
- System stats: download and upload charts, gauges that warn when memory or disk runs high, and a clearer battery card.
- Now playing: the progress bar keeps moving between track updates.
- Dock: slightly larger, with icons perfectly centred.
