Perch is built to keep your data on your computer. This policy explains the little information that does leave it.
Data that stays on your PC
Tasks, reminders, notes, focus sessions, clipboard history, saved links, screen time, screenshots, files on the shelf and settings are stored only on your device. We cannot see them.
Data sent over the internet
- Licence checks: your licence key and a device name are sent to Dodo Payments to activate and validate your licence.
- Updates: Perch checks GitHub for new versions.
- Weather: if you choose a city, its coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo.
- Links: when you save a link, Perch visits that page once to read its title and icon. Nothing is sent to us.
- GitHub: only if you connect it. Perch reads your public profile and contributions from GitHub, or, if you sign in, your contribution counts and pull requests with read-only access. The sign-in is kept in Windows Credential Manager on your PC and is never sent to us. Disconnect any time in Settings.
Phone transfer
When you turn on phone transfer, files go directly between your phone and PC over your own Wi-Fi network, never through the internet or our servers. It uses a one-time key in the QR code, only shares files on your shelf, and switches itself off after 10 quiet minutes.
Purchases
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email and country to deliver your licence and provide support. We never see your card details.
